Faster

Science tries to correct errors made in interpretation of climate data.
Er now it's appears oceans will rise faster , more in line with previous simulation models

We've all seen the CG of coastlines going underwater in the next decades.
If I still live here on East side , our buildings ground floor could be wet .
The subway here floods easily.
Then what 10 -15 -20 years out ?
In a simulation seen the other night Miami will be underwater .
Much of the South part of Florida gone, completely submerged. Maybe to emerge at a later date
Katrina, the current Mid West flooding , next ...
Low country Netherlands London parts of Asia

Computer vote

With all the pre - election concern about being able to vote, and 'will my vote count?'
and as the data , info has come in from the last weeks election,
it makes me think of 'online elections' ...
They seem like a solution for some people who just cannot make it to polls on certain days, bad weather, fallen and can't get up, whatever circumstance.
This time around having polls open for early voting did seem to help and was a useful alt for those who otherwise might not have had the time to stand in line.

Probably though there would be some snag about voter's ID,
with people crashing /gaming the system, setting virus', Trojan horses , worms loose.
Also there would be some who just do not use computers ...

Interesting to see those again Swears,
not off the mark really at all are they ?

Weren't those spots directed by David Fincher ?
A generation earlier it would have been Riddley Scott ( or was it Riddley who did them ? lol).

Tectonics...

The crust is on the move again.
With earthquakes in Japan recently and Sumatra yesterday,
today one in Okinawa ...
Think that big plate that was active in the big previous Sumatra quake is on the move again.
A ramping up of activity or lessening pressure so this is not a 'big one' phase ?

Seismic ...

Aha, three earthquakes in the Pacific within the last hour.
Although US Geological S says "it's not unusual", a 7.8 quake in Vanuatu
7.5 not far away and lastly a 7.1 in Phillipines -seems like a lot of activity !

Incredible footage from the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis. I was totally awe-struck by that one shot at 8:00 where the shuttle detaches from the carrier rockets and floats away into space. This video certainly reminds you what a sublime accomplishment space flight is.
