too punk to drunk
Fucken easy:

HOPE SANDOVAL - still the hardest to beat for white chickybabe singing the cuntrybloozefulck indie, cred style whatever.

FIONA APPLE - say what you will, she is an extremely talented songwritress, with incredible compositions, voice and look. Kinda like a modern day Nico, but far more talented in every front.

BEYONCE - makes Madonna look kinda lame. Love her singles, they just *shimmer* with femme ugh...

CHAT POWER - just coz she's a Phoebe Cates with a geetar, but I never buy her records coz it'll prolly kill the illusion.

NICO - the Chelsea Girl is so fucken good, I dunno. She useta be able to sing quite nice.

The girl from ARCADE FIRE- refining the sensitive indie waif wail....

henry s

Street Fighting Man
Frida Hyvonen - a dirtier and more hygenic (she's Scandanavian) Laura Nyro
Jolie Holland - enchanting country blues with an otherworldly Dock Boggs quality...

I don't fight, I run away
Poka & Stella Michelson

What's Yummy done?

I first heard her on the last De La Soul album, then someone mentioned her in the last R&B thread we had doing a song called 'Come Get It'. Lupe Fiasco used the same track from one of the De La tunes, and that's about all I've heard.

my daughters don't rate her at all and I trust their musical judgment on r'n'b but for what it's worth they can't stand the phat beats I listen to either...

...go figure

She was part of a group called Tha Rayne - the Didn't You Know 12" from 2 or 3 years ago is great. Produced by Rich Harrison. Didn't really get picked up on as much as I thought it would.

She's had 2 more solo singles out recently (that I know of). Is It Good To You and One More Chance
