I rate Two Lone Swordsmen's "Return To Flight Path Estate" as one of the best albums ever, can't really explain why except that I had a such a fantastic listening experience with this album once when I had a high fever sometime in the late '90s. It just entered my system and hasn't left since. :)

"I went to a Wang party in Feb sometime, in a kind of squatted pub covered in graffiti near Hackney Wick trian station"
I was somewhere else but a load of my mates went to that, one of them got arrested when he came out.
"decksorcist, bass junkie etc ed dmx, si begg"
I think Ed Dmx posts on dissensus sometimes.

Also, just remembered. There's a free magazine you see lying around in bars and stuff in London called Full Moon Empty Sportsbag, it publishes short stories, poetry, nonsense etc A couple of months ago I picked it up and started reading the first article, a rant about how the internet has made everything available and how people don't value anything because it's too easy to get. Fairly old ideas, fairly badly written I thought and then glanced at the bottom of the page to find that it was written by....Andrew Weatherall.

I could really do with some links to mixes of dirty contemporary electro. Less the Si Begg side (though I do like him!), more the CT / Drex side... Marc, have you done one like that?

I thought I might resurrect this thread although I've not followed him so much in recent years. I did enjoy Bullet Catchers Apprentice, especially La Sirena (audio) and I saw him over the summer in Camden which was the first time in years and I've been trying to keep tabs (unsuccessfully) on him since then.

I noticed on the Rotter's website that he has been blogging on there recently(ish) and that he is playing out Sunday 25/11/07 at the Queens Head, Islington. I might amble along and see what he's currently up to. I thought some others on here might be interested.

Still playing there, is he? Cool. Saw him there over the summer doing a brilliant rockabilly/60s-garage-psych-punk type set. Nice venue, too, although maddeningly busy!

No one mentioned 'Tiny reminders' yet? That was a great album, very highly critically rated as well at the time I seem to recall.

tragic mix
Rob Hall has been knocking out some pretty definitve contemporary electro mixes at rob-hall.co.uk, they only stay up for a month though.

personally i can't stand most of the control towerstyle electro, far too boom tch standard, errs far too close too breaks and makes you dance shit. check Rob's mixes for the real good stuff.

i'd love to hear some classic weatherall mixes, anyone got any links??

20 Dec - Weatherall playing a country/rockabilly set at Bardens Boudoir Stokey.
you must have insider info, their website only goes up to 16th December! I'll stick it in the diary and check back. Cheers for the heads up.

Weatherall mixes eh? If only there was recordings of Weatherall and Richie Hawtin playing at Sabresonic, Or him playing at Passion on a Sunday. Or Full Circle. He really did take a lot of us on a very long journey.

yeah there was a local (LA) electro crew that played nothing BUT robotic breaks like that. i enjoyed those parties for a year or 2 before it got so samey samey...

whether successful or not, Andy W. is moving on to other styles. where as this crew is doing the same thing over and over... guys like that, i wonder what will, or what has already become of them? so invested in just one thing, and one thing only. will be a sad day when it hits them that A. there is a whole world out there that they know shit about and B. that the one thing they devoted their lives to is going to become OLD and BORING (already has). but i guess it's even more sad if that day never comes!
