when it's summer there's this very distinct moment where the day breaks and the scorching sun makes place for a gentle orange glow. a part of the city's machinery stops and the other one takes over. some people go home, others leave their home. the night shift takes over.

i've coincidentally been listening to this tangerine dream


as prep for the big read soon come.

It's very much an 80s LA Noir type soundtrack. Or something like the Karate Kid where there's a chase scene. But apparently from 2011.

Maybe a bit cheesy but it's got a flow to it.

I had a treasured cassette when I was living far away from UK in the 90's, it had some London radio taped over a mix including that theme from risky business, that weird 80's movie with a sleazy young tom cruise, a palimpsest of fuzzy old worn down magnetic dust,

Feel like Avalon is exactly this too, surprised it's not on the thread already. Late-nite AM radio, cruising around in the dark, the title track comes on—wow.
