as mentioned previously, Budweiser is nun's piss but passable (barely) when no other options are available. if lite beer is the only option, leave immediately.

I like my lite beer.

Once a year I drink beer and then I get a 24-rack for $18.99 at the CVS down the street and drink it all over two days and then I don't drink until next year

is lite beer something american? have never heard of it.

lots of Americans are obsessed with fitness and carbs/calories, and "lite" beers were invented to cater to that demand. personally, I'd rather drink one real 240-calorie beer than three cans of 90-calorie nun's piss, but that's just me.

some people don't have discerning palettes. it's not a character flaw, something they have no control over.

I think it's more that you grow into your palette. Children shun blue cheese, beer, coffee, olives etc.

It's cider or Guinness for me now when I cycle to some remote country pub. If I have ale, something goes wrong in my hindgut.

Every once in awhile, you run across a health hack that totally changes the game. For me, one of those is eye-stretching.

I'll let you do your own research on the best methods, but basically you close your eyes, and push your eyes the farthest right, left, up, down, etc as you can.

I had a heavy session on Bass once during a big family party. My brother and I each had a sofa to sleep on in our uncle's living room. He was ready to kill me the next morning, lol.

Just got a pack of these, and while I think I tried it before it made much more of an impact this time. Very good. Not sure what distinguishes doppelbock or bock, but I think there is something counterintuitive about it, like that it is a dark lager when most dark ones are ales, or some such. Anyway, one of my favorites now.

Searched for moretti on the forum, and saw much love from @Corpsey but I'm not sure if it was the Rossa/doppelbock in particular.

Also a small keg of Warsteiner German Pilsner, which I haven't tried. I did, however, try Warsteiner oktoberfest on draft a few years back, and that became my favorite all time. Not sure where it would stand now.

edit: that is, for a small family oktoberfest celebration, although I suspect our timeframe is a bit off.
