Caned beer is horrible, metallic and nasty.

I once spent a while collecting up all the full cans of beer I could find after a festival and went home with about sixty thinking how brilliant an idea it was until I had to drink my way through sixty cans of flat, tinny beer.

That's right, I associate canned beer with warm cans of carlsberg at music festivals, or going for the wrong can at a house party that's been used as an ashtray

I think the slow Creep up the scale in % has ruined beer. 5% is OK but all the 7 and 8s are stupid.

drinking in america took some getting used to for this, everything is like 7%, it kicks my arse, makes me a gibbering simpleton as i down them at my traditional english pace of three pints an hour

Only problem with bottles is the shame you feel when you go to chuck them all away the next day - clinking out of the house with your two plastic carrier bags and then standing there dropping them one by one into the recycling bin for all the world to hear 😞

Can't you recycle them in Spain like in rest of Europe? I thought it was just us in UK who were idiots on that count

I do recycle them though. We don't have personal bins though, you have to do the walk of shame to the local bins. The noise the bottles make as you drop them in the bin is insane

i watched a man throw glass bottles in the public recycling bin one by one in madrid the other day. i wanted to help him, i wanted to pick up the bag and tip them all in at once, but it would have made a horrible noise. i used to have to tip a lot of glass into bins of other smashed glass in a factory job i had, it is a really fucking horrible noise that. its worse than autechre.

Is everyone else not in the same boat? I see tons of wine bottles in people's recycling boxes.

Disposing of two plastic carrier bags full of botellines makes a lot more noise than a couple of wine bottles.

If you live in the town centre it's even worse cause the recycling trucks come to empty the bins at around midnight and it sounds like the world's ending. They love hosing down all the streets with water around this time as well (only in the centre though, my barrio's streets are paved with dogshit)
