i'm drinking some milkless black tea right now. there is one brand of teabag in afghanistan, i've never seen another, Alkozai, which is a family from the south-east apparently. as you fly into the airport in kabul you come in over a big warehouse with Alkozai written on the top.

maybe pakistan is the shatter zone - like for many things i guess - on the euro-asian milk in tea continuum. everything i had in islamabad and karachi had milk in. that kind of tea which is full of sugar and milk. although in retrospect i think i was offered the option of milk tea or tea.
