Got to be careful with craft beer, its a slippery slope to buying a CAMRA membership then spending your weekends trying to go to every Shepherd Neame inside the London orbital

"oh i had an excellent half of bishops finger in the cock and wolfpack last week, it was a delight"

I do like a lagunitas though

don't understand this, how do you get from enjoying delicious bottles of pale ale brewed up by dionysus himself, to drinking pints of flat warm piss at 3.6%

i dont miss drinking at all tbh the thought of it and of the sloppy mush brain that goes with it gives me the willies but i have sort of been craving the pub, but its an idealised vision of the pub, the pub as ive never experienced an actual pub. the warm fug, the jibber jabber, laughter, ho-ho-ho, a huge meal of parsnips and gravy, wood panelling, windows steamed up, jovial banter

but actually when i go pub i order a pint of lager and double whisky, try and cane it as fast as possible, everyone shouts over each other, crack your head open on the way home

what you are describing is literally the silent woman on any weekday night. except they don't do food. which i am a believer in. that's another thing that's ruined pubs.

bar snacks up to the level of a pickled egg is fine. but no cooked food. but you can take a takeaway in if you ask.
