I've been drinking every single day since the start of the pandemic, never really getting smashed, "for pleasure", but now I've got a fat gut and I only sleep about 5 or 6 hours a day, maybe a siesta in the afternoon if I'm lucky. Need to drastically cut down I know but summer is the worst time to do it. Maybe I need to move a place where there's less bars but literally street has at least 1 bar here, it's inescapable. Plus, I don't really want to stop cos it's quite nice.
its not just that its quite nice its also that it solves so many problems. like what to do with the evening. the evening is terrifying sober. its completely pointless. if i could go to sleep after dinner i would. get rid of that shameful void.

My hangovers aren't necessarily worse in terms of suffering but they have a genuinely demonic aspect post infection which I find quite alarming

Can't remember the last time I had a hangover, they stopped when I started sticking to just beer, cut down on wine apart from with food. Haven't touched spirits in years. That's also when I got a paunch though, but I think I'd rather have that than hangovers. I couldn't function with constant hangovers, got a proper job and family and that.

Had a massive hangover today from three pints last night - am such a lightweight since Omicron :(

For years I was getting these absolutely horrid hangovers from as little as 2 beers. Not just a bit off, more like world caving in, existential dread, impending doom. Worried that it meant my liver was fucked or something. Turned out it was depression. After about a year of meds, which pulled me out, I can now drink properly and the next day I'm a bit off and lethargic, but it no longer feels like armageddon is peeking through the keyhole. Those things had me avoiding drinking for a looong time. I'd have to seriously weigh up if the next day was going to be worth it. Most of the time it wasn't.

That is interesting; I shall research that

Keep off the strong skunk though. That's another thing I totally cut out years ago, there's just no way I could function smoking that.
I just meant smoke a tiny bit so the dimensions of your mind change and your vantage point changes and most importantly you have a good nights sleep.
