i'm in switzerland, i was at a bar next to the train station and people were drinking those massive huge yard of ale things or whatever, one exploded for some reason while they were filling it up next to me. been a while since i drank, its a nice feeling, my interlocutor opens up a bit when he drinks and you go a few new places when you talk, and it feels less shameful to be drunk on the tram here than it does in america. i like the lack of brand names here you just say 'i want a blond i want a white i want an IPA'; i think this is optimal. we don't need to get into specific niche brands and products.

Also had a walk up to Hay Tor this morning and even scrambled up to the top of the tor itself, which was great. No moisture in the air at all, so visibility was amazing.

Does the aubusiveness of his texts increase as a function of pints imbibed?

We're currently in Brussels on our first real city holiday since the baby. It's weird being back here with a two year-old in tow - we're hanging out in the AirBnB in the evening with some beers from the local supermarket (and admittedly that includes Duvel Triple Hop, Mc Chouffe and lambics from Boon and Oud Beersel rather than a slab of lager, because Belgium) rather than really hitting the bars. It does feel kind-of weird knowing that all the places we used to go to are out there but we aren't.

That said, this is partly our own fault for leaving the booking fairly late and having to get a place in chi-chi Chatelain where everything's natural wine bars and fancy Japanese restaurants rather than somewhere more convenient for the decent beer places in St Gilles or Flagey.

he did not hit #61, btw. game got called in the 6th inning due to rain. but the beers are 25 ounces, so two-for-one. almost makes it worth the $17.
