yeah i was going to mention that, then deleted it. the second last episode is filled with stick figures on white backgrounds. they pass it off as some sort of deep psychoananlytic journey, but really it's because they ran out of money.

The Sheep Look Up / Stand On Zanzibar

After reading John Brunner's edge of eco death novel The Sheep Look Up for first first time through in many years ,
I've dived right into his Stand On Zanzibar again and am kind of surprised to confirm just how much ol' W Gibson er, got from this one.

Jeez Bill !

Essential 'cyberpunk' from before the term was coined

New anime Tekon Kinkreet

1994 manga Tekkon Kinkreet by Taiyo Matsumoto makes it to the big screen
Soundtrack by Plaid.
Thankfully in Japanese with subtitles .
Lead voice of 'Black' is by Kazunari Ninomiya ( last seen in Eastwood's Letters From Iwo Jima ,the young soldier who survives to the end)
Directed by Michael Arias , an American whose been working with Studio 4C (The Animatrix) for years now,
still , it's unusual to have an American direct a Japanese anime .
111 minutes .
Recommended ...

Tekkon was a very popular series ,
Author/Artist Matsumoto charismatic (also directed the live action Ping Pong)

Involves street kids Black trying to protect his friend White and the 'derelict and imaginary' Treasure Town they live in from interlopers

"To forget a friend is sad.
Not every one has had a friend.
And if iforget him ,I may become like the grown -ups ...
"And that , as everyone knows ,would be disastrous."

Playing @ only one theatre Quad Cinema 34 West 13th St.
Surely coming to UK soon enough
Nice gig Plaid !
Cheers
