there doesn't seem to a lot of interest in the drexciya/ur electro side of things right now (and they aren't selling themselves)

I love drexciya and UR but arpanet has moved so far from what drexciya was....
..but I still love what he's doing.

does anyone else make ambient/dark electronic music like this?
i never heard anything close.

Does this have anything to do with Drexciya, is it a Gerald Donald project? Or is it just influenced by them? The samples sound good anyway, might pick this up when I've got some cash.

What about some of Anthony Rothers LPs?

Elixir of Life
Magic Diner
Art is a Technology
Art is a Division of Pain

Less frosty and more broody than Inertial Frame, and he gets a bit Jarre with it, but those are qualities I like.

His track Simulationzeitalter is still a favourite...

Men Create, Computers Simulate
At Monitors Men Operate
Assisted By Robots
The Age Of Simulation - The World As A Wireframe Model

Martin Dust

Techno Zen Master

It's just Gerald Donald, pretty cold in parts but I like his work when I'm in the right mood - usually when I get out of bed the wrong side :)

I like the first few Rother records... but they're nothing like what I'm talking about. There are almost no beats on the Arpanet record, it's not electro or anything, have a listen!

I'll go and check the stuff you named, Bleep, but I am sceptical after AR's forays into electroclashy nonsense.

The ones listed are prior to his clash/trash period, which doesn't really sit with me at all.

They're largely beatless and dark, deep textural-melodic ambient-electro workouts. It is a different aesthetic to the Detroit deep space stuff; theres less friction.

i just listened to this album, its really good. however, i dont really think its a huge move away from Dexciya. at the very least its an extension of alot of things that were hinted at in some of Drexciya's output. i cant think of any track names off the top of my head, but there are definitely some more abstract / ambient things that Drexciya did, and to me it just seems like hes moved more down that channel and left all the more "dancefloor" type material behind.
