it was awful. the nadir of dissensus with some of my least favourite characters. luckily almost all of them have been liquidated now.

Maybe this has to do with lifestages. When you're young, you want to conquer the world by mapping it out. If only you had the proper representation. At some point this gets given up. Well, I'm not readu to sit around and bant til my deathbed, bowler in hand!

it doesnt map onto dissensus though. i was always agitating for a banter state no matter my age and a lot of the most tedious debaters were elder gentlemen

The preamble suggests it: [1] Human nature (of either persuasion) as a fiction, and [2] the antinomy of the noble vs ignoble savage (not actually mutually exclusive at all, such an antagonism being inherent) as necessary constructions to perpetuate the fiction of the reality principle ...

no i strongly disagree. dissensus in this era was the worst season of dissensus. my favourite dissensus was luka & barty dissensus.

I suppose he put in some intense energy and there were a few sour patches so perhaps some kind of burnout effect may have happened.

Alluded to this before - a difficult thing to articulate, but there's maybe a shift from forummers talking about the outside world to forummers as product, and as content in the soap opera. do you agree? why might that be? @suspended works in tech and is a social theorist so he can tell us more

say something about language games. something maybe about self as brand, and brands making statements
