German judge rules infant circumcision is illegal - Muslim and Jewish groups up in arms, predictably.

A great result, but this bit:

Women's rights groups and social policy makers also condemned the decision, but for the reason that it would have the effect of putting male and female circumcision on the same footing, when they were "in no way comparable", said Katrin Altpeter, social minister in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Female circumcision she said, was a far more drastic act. It is already outlawed in Germany.

...Does My Head In. Exactly what the fuck do women's rights have to do with (male) circumcision? How can people not understand that just because two things are regarded as bad, it doesn't preclude the possibility that one of them is worse than the other? It's illegal to punch someone in the face for no reason and it's also illegal to shoot someone - that doesn't mean one of those acts isn't considered much worse and isn't likely to be punished far more harshly. I could kind of understand the point if FMG wasn't already illegal in Germany, but it is. Whataboutery at its most stupid.

Went to a friend's wedding last night. All good fun and that, but the DJ insisted on playing Spanish pop music (not all night though, thankfully). Easily the worst music that has ever existed. I'd rather listen to Philip Glass and Genesis P. Orridge farting through a distortion pedal for six hours.

It does get pretty annoying when people have nothing except negativity to broadcast about anything other than electronic music.. but tbh I hate most bands. And from that tweet it sounds suspiciously like Oasis, to which the fans are bigger arseholes than the band members...although it could be the Happy Mondays, in which case he’s an idiot.

Although happy mondays were what late 80's? sorry i;m not that into bands.

pretty sure xxxy was talking about the stone roses. i'm not a fan myself at all - it's just the arrogant offhand dismissal of anyone that does like them as twats that i find unbearable. and how is his music any more 'relevant' than the stone roses, asides from it being newer? but yeah so many djs say the most inane or arrogant or dumb things on there, it's depressing

A thing that’s annoyed me recently is people (well this one girl actually) saying they aren’t into the Essex scene, and ‘really into deep house music!’ then proceed to decline all invites to any house nights and post pictures of themselves in a dress & heels in faces.

I got no problem with faces or the essex thing, it’s what people are into init?, but why say you like house music when you’re not willing to go to a club to listen to how it was intended to be heard?

Her excuse was ‘I’m not hardcore enough for that yet’, fucking mug.

ohh sorry, 1 more...i know someone posted in here that they don't like it when people come into the toilet when they are in there @ work or w/e...well nor do i, but i dont think i would mind if i were in a bigger company...what PISSES me off is when the guy who sits NEXT TO ME..(whos a complete moaner and i think it's wearing off on me sadly) when i go to the toilet, follows me in straight after and stands at the FUCKING URINAL NEXT TO ME...is that not weird? Sorry if I'm being pedantic, but can you not hold your bladder for 5 minutes until i'm done??....like in a bigger company it wouldn't bother me, cause i'd be like, 'oh alright jim, haven't spoke to you this week' that's cool...but not when there is 7 of us...i use a toilet break to get away from you for 5 minutes mostly, why the FUCK would I want our bladders to sync. Weirdo.

Club-related age snobbery in either direction is PADMHI. At the risk of sounding a bit why-can't-we-all-just-get-along, as long as people are there to enjoy the music, have a dance and enjoy themselves, and aren't starting trouble, groping girls up or getting falling-over wasted, it shouldn't matter whether they're 18 or 48. A lot of the best nights I've been to have had quite a big range in the punters' age. And 23-year-olds getting snotty about 'kids' just five years younger than themselves is ridiculous (unless it's actually correlated with prattish behaviour, which unfortunately can sometimes be the case).

Hmm, tricky one. Normally I'd say "don't be so sensitive" but when there are only seven of you in the whole office it does seem pretty weird to actually follow you into the bogs. Does this happen often enough that it's definitely not a coincidence?
