Actually Tom Vague’s histories of West London and the BM Blob “A Place Called Nothing Hill” do a great job. But they stop before the 90s when it all becomes terrible. Still some reggae sound system stuff in Acton though.
Luka you are being a contrarian for the sake of it if you listen to this Essentials set and still maintain that South London can't do Grime.
Start about 43 minutes in and try and tell me that K Dot, Jendor and Kaptain Remerdee aren't contendors for the best trio of MCs. Obviously no one here is seriously advocating for baggy trousers, but... Loose Ends were reasonably American sounding but they ended up beating the shermans at their own game- in the process becoming the biggest south soldiers of the 80's.
