yeah, he played half an hour of dubstep/uk garage in his last hour, and i recognised the 'back like that' from the original trg but since the other half of the hook was missing i figured it might have been something he'd sampled... but it was that.

Shame I missed that last half hour - left at about 9. I'm pretty sure he played the other side of the Hessle Audio EP earlier on, the Broken Heart Martyn's DCM remix, which for me is just the most magical track around at the moment (tho the Ramadanman rmx is also ace!). Love the way it creates this sense of suspension, nothing happens: it just hangs there, but it's so beautiful. That and Johnny D's Orbitalife on Oslo, which he also played. (Ha, the number of records I have bought just cos Villalobos played them: it's quite sad really). Ooh can anyone ID the first track he played, the one with the massive bass drop...?

Skream has returned with the stella sessions and has some good guest mixes for the next shows, martyn and komanazuk on this wednesday and then breakage next week. And he played a goldie tune last week apparantly...

Zen Militia

Anyone know anything about/enjoying Zen Militia? I recently picked up a promo copy of 'Pull of guilt', with a Scuba remix on the flip and its excellent stuff.

All I've discovered so far is that he's from Canada. So is there a dubstep scene out there then?

Check this disgusting FWD line-up – Kode9, Mala, Heatwave and Geeneus (could be bit of a snoozefest but the other 3 should be amazing). May 9th.

BTW, don't know if anyone mentioned it cos been away but Disrupt with Mikey Murka (and another vocalist) the other week at FWD were niiiiice. Really enjoyable. Strange FWD though - hardly any people, Benny Ill played a set of mainly dub, the first hour was old breaky garage I think. I am loving the new FWD direction.

well that's just typical, can't make that fwd, damn. i could have made it this friday, which has the not remotely enticing prospect of two hours of youngsta, d1 (who i guess might be alright) and tubby.

roll on fwd sundays, i say.

oh, and congrats to gabe and the heatwave!

oh, and lol at fwd finally doing now what anyone with ears said they should have started doing some time in march 2006: mixing it up a little.
