Grievous Angel

Beast of Burden
No matter how good the line up, Fabric will be shit.

In fact, there's so many good acts on, that it will be almost impossible to have a good time - most of them need room to stretch out.

And Lee Perry really is not worth seeing.

Mala with Sherwood however is a whole other proposition. If it's Mala DJing with Sherwood on the mix it could be apocalyptic. But it's probably just Sherwood spinning some Tubby's sevens.

Actually I'll take a Mala set at any random club over anything - anything at all, up to and including Shaka, or the Abyssinians - at Fabric.

I just dont know
the atmosphere is just horrible in there, overcrowded, lots of beered up arseholes. but i haven't been for a few years so maybe its turned itself around. its got a bad reputation generally, even for central london. i'm too old now to put up with being herded round like cattle in clubs.

yeh fair enough! i guess it just depends which nights you go to. both times i've been were maybe slightly unusual lineups which drew a different crowd, but i found the demographic quite pleasant, lots of europeans, lots of euphoria, generally good vibes

but as i say i have had limited experience

Yeah, scratch properly sucks now. He is a fool and just plays silly pseudo-dnb for hippies.

to be fair, i went there last saturday and was dreading it (the last time i went me and some mates found ourselves in the middle of the room 1 floor when pendulum came on to follow skream, and it was one of the worst clubbing experiences of my life - worse than the time someone put ghb in my drink and my ex thought i was dying), but this time wasnt too bad. we didn't go til about half two which probably made all the difference because the dickheads had started to filter out. and it was alex under on a saturday, which obviously attracts a better crowd than drum and bass on a friday.

There was a bit of a studenty "ooh look at the madman" gawping thing going on, too.

apparently he was at some word psychedelic forum in Switzerland - my friend saw him but he's not all there these days according to him. looks like he was invited by whoever he was with and happily tagged along.

anyway what di ppl think of the new kode 9 and space ape konfusion

he sounds really like grace jones at times, love the way the space echo they're using on spaceapes vocals is twisting his voice out even more.

yeah ponderous space journey material. i like it a lot.

i really would love to see them put out a live album next, something that captures the open-endedness and energy of their bass fiction sets.

here's one of the dubstep tracks villalobos was dropping at the end of fabric. anyone got any ideas? it cuts out way too early here, such a good tune.
