I went the other night. There was some jackin', some nonsense glitchy sub Rustie something or other, some weird ambient stuff by Koreless and then I went home because I am old and have to work in the morning. Artwerk and Zinc were on later I think. EZ's on in a couple of weeks!

Hadn't been to fwd for a few years before, but the crowd was a bit different from before I think. Inevitably a bit more Dalston, I think a bit whiter. But Skream, Mala, Brackles were all at the bar, like the old days when all the producers used to come down.

Thanks for the update! It's funny looking on the website and not knowing any of the DJs, used to check it religiously and get down there so often...

EZ, Brackles, Appleblim and Royal-T actually sounds like a pretty great line up.

Thats the shittest thing he's ever made, if only he could hear it through his 04-05 ears. No progression at all, even the same bass riff from his old tunes.

Apologies if this has been covered already - I couldn't find it by way of searching the thread.

As with the cutting shapes thread, I'm nowhere near the action & was wondering what ye olde house tunes have been revived regularly in amongst the housier post-dubstep sets in the last few years? I've sold an old organy Strictly Rhythm bit on Discogs for instance & thought "I can only imagine thats worth money now cos the dubsteppers are onto it".

I remember first clocking there must be a bit of money coming into dubstep when Confetti Doubles, Enchanted Rhythms et al started disappearing off Discogs :) Not sure which individual tracks have gained revivial on the regular or if it even occurs with the well so deep now but was very much Adonis Chicago early on before moving towards Theo and later taking in the various German orbits.

Anything overtly 808 for a time if ever comes close to narrowing it down.

Yeah, I remember raising the Anthill ones starting to be worth money a few years back on here (sadly not the ones I've got though!).

Yeah, thought the same about there being a lot of current stuff to choose from. Adonis "No Way Back" is truly perennial though innit - classic bumpy bassline, there's that Greg Wilson re-edit as well. I've been scratching my head the last coupla days before replying because I'm sure there's another particularly bumpy re-edit I heard that might suit, but I can't bring to mind exactly what it was - maybe I heard it on some old Hot Mix 5 recording or summat. "The Poke" also still sounds good.

I'm still embarrassingly dumb on Theo Parrish - another thing I need schooling on...

I had a feeling it wouldnt be well received, glad I still enjoy it though

On a different note, anybody now the track around 20 mins into the new Oneman RA mix? Got dem strings all high like

Sophie - elle.. it's on numbers, check the other side "bipp" it's a wee belter, completely fucked bendy sugary synth as the artwork suggests with an amateur pop vocal that makes it
the tracklist for that mix is on the RA site.

who knows...
i've been digging without much luck...

but has anything come out this year that shows promise? any new idea at 140?

the author album was boring, starkey's lp was mostly bro-trap, swindle was ok (but i've never really been a fan of his stuff...)

Joker's EP was kinda cool i guess, but nothing surprising.

couple of cluekid releases have been good (dolphin / rainy street light)

Kahn's been consistently up to par (nothing brilliant though...)

amit's acid trip was good too.

the last commodo release on deep medi (granted one side was 128bpms) the dubstep side was quality.

did i miss anything?

(the last "dont get it twisted" 12 was horrendous)

but i mean is there any "hope" left? maybe Mala will release "Too Much Chat" finally, that would at least make everything a bit better...

(was nice to finally see moldy's "through the rain" released albeit 4? years late...)
