Yes 180 degree change of mentality with that injection of spirit and disciplin. But my arm chair psychologising predicted no less from such a coach, ask anyone.

Football's mental today. United losing 6-1 at home. Liverpool currently 4-1 down. The Bayern game was mad and now Sevilla's just scored against Barca within eight minutes of kick off only for Barca to equalise almost immediately.

As. Spurs’ fan I loved that Lamela mugged Martial off. We’ve been guilty of being on the wrong end of shithousery for years - I can think of matches against Chelsea for example. Souness going full EDL about ‘Latins’ and the British game only made me laugh harder.

A mate is a Utd fan from Salford and wants child-face out of the managerial position. Oh well.

Didn't watch it but England just beat Belgium 2-1 - when I went online all I saw was people moaning about how they were playing.... but they just beat the number one ranked team in the world, it can't have been THAT bad can it?

Hmmm
Not a great game. Belgium had that Carrasco chance in the 72nd minute, England had Rashford’s in the 85th, but otherwise this summary from David Keech isn’t far wrong: “This has been a 0-0 game with two stupid penalties and a lucky deflection.”

yes, this is a big reason why Ernesto Valverde's Barca was not a complete shit show as most people say it was. I watched the games week in and out and Ernesto really got best out of what he was dealt with. He couldn't play high-octane pressing game because of Messi, Suarez/Busquets/Coutinho and tiki-taka was an ancient history at the time.
So he did the only sensible thing he could - figure out a defense in 9 men and let Messi/Suarez do the scoring. This almost worked except for a set of three games where things went wrong - Levante in league, Roma and Liverpool in CL. Of those three, Liverpool was objectively stronger than Barca and if we are really being honest, Barca was lucky to win 3-0 in the first leg. Levante game was the only farce in a season of 38 games and no one in the history of La Liga has ever managed that.
The defeat to Roma was the worst but it's the same Roma that went toe to toe against Liverpool (5-2, 2-4) and people conveniently ignore how well-drilled team Roma was.

I think I'd rather have a more competitive league from top to bottom with fewer goals than one with millions of goals and B and RM being 25 points clear of everyone but Atleti personally.

Depends how it's made competitive, imo. I've no interest in watching a league where everyone plays like Mourinho's Inter did against Barca.
