Are footballers muting their goal celebrations in the absence of supporters to go Yeeeees and do a fist pump in front of?

yeah its weird how they are all still running to the touchline like theres a crowd there. i used to think you needed a live crowd for a footie match but evidently not

its like cargo cults or something. you can still have the aesthetics of the ritual even if they're untethered from any reality

I think it just reveals something about the ego of your average footballer... sure the adulation of crowds was important in building things up to the level they have reached but at a certain point they it becomes self-sustaining.

i was talking to my mate the other day and he said he's renewed his season ticket... which basically allows you to watch the game on telly, they give you a code or something. i was quite surprised but i guess a load of people must be still doing this? his team isn't prem league so it's not so massive but i guess man utd etc are still coining it in from the long term fans? but what about all the glory supporters, will they be staying on? dunno id this has been discussed much in articles etc - football clubs finanes dipping due to covid? im sure i saw something about some clubs collapsing but its not happened so far has it? the fans are still paying - what else are they gonna do i suppose

It's been discussed a lot. Newcastle tried to do one of their games pay-per-view a couple of weeks back but a lot of fans protested and gave their money to a food bank instead... I don't think that model is looking promising.
This is a decent goal anyway (pace what I said above)

The Bielsa one though.

Desert retreat in Mexico. Everyone swallows the peyote, then sits cross-legged on beanbags placed initially in 3-3-1-3 formation but swirling as you go on a mystical psychic voyage, Bielsa perfectly silent yet communicating wisdom telepathically. You come round. You go again.

Spain beat Germany 6-0 today... I know it's the Nations League and I haven't seen the game or anything, but that doesn't happen very often in any circumstances... when was the last time?

Guy who used to play in my 5-a-side team...
Prior to that day in 1986 I was a friendly, trusting, wide eyed, happy and content little 8 year old boy. After that moment and the hours and days that followed I became the distrusting, spiteful, nasty, vindictive individual that you have all come to know. Maradona taught me that there is no honour in this world and that the bad guy wins. Goodbye Satan.
