Ian Svenonius dj sets

Been thinking about this 'cause I just ordered his book, I've never been that much a fan of Nation of Ulysses or the Make Up or whatever but I find their manifestos and slogans and stuff quite interesting and the guy himself is fascinating. I notice that he djs quite a lot and I saw this press release for a night with Calvin thingy from K which said:

"Record collections numbering in the tens of thousands will combine, collide, and meld together to form quite possibly the most dancing, most rocking, and most soul-filled DJ sets of all time."
But beyond that I can't find any description of what he (or they) plays, in terms of either general styles or specific records. Anyone ever seen him or know anyone who has? Better still, set lists would be interesting I reckon.

don't know nothing about the dj sets

however, i do rather like the make-up -- think they stand up rather well, i.e., the late 90s albums like "in mass mind" and "save yourself"

wouldn't surprise me at all if he were a great dj of rock'n'roll, punk and soul

it always surprised me that John Peel really disliked The Make-up. he was hardly ever critical about bands, but he was really anti them.

Me neither but I wondered if it wouldn't go a little more leftfield than that as well. That's why I'd be keen to see some set-lists.
Oh well, if no-one's seen him dj, has anyone read this book? I reckon it looks as though it ought to be pretty funny and judging by the extracts my mate read me the other day I reckon I was right.

"Vampirism, vodka and dialectical materialism are stimulating topics, but this set of essays reads like a half-baked dissertation written by a precocious over-medicated narcissist. Often verbose and incomprehensible--I highly recommend it."

I liked them (and NoU) but I think they were held to have a vapid and trendy fanbase and were disliked on those grounds. They were kind of like Rocket From The Crypt or Jon Spencer blah-di-blah (i.e. consciously style-over-substance, to a degree) but they weren't shit.
