This guest mix by Greenmoney on Seb Chew's show is a good listen (about half an hour in). Major notes is on just before them too, the new version of Jungle Book is great.

Wouldn't bother with that sunday roast mix though.

Actually this greenmoney mix is really great listening back to it now.

They play a mashup of these two tunes called 'Da Siegarage'

DKD - Future Rage. A Bugz in the Attic offshoot

...which Apple nicked the drums off to make this

And Alex Phountzi from Bugz is of course in Greenmoney. So there you go...

And speaking of the little Broken Beat>Uk Funky continuum, whatever happened to Ear Dis? They were ace!

This was a great track too, Arms out of Ear Dis...

Last Ear Dis thing I recall was this remix of Daniel Merriweather from about 2008. Totally overlooked because, well, it's Daniel Merriweather, but one I regard fondly. The intro is a bit too long, and the vinyl copy I have seems really badly mastered, but anyway:

Not sure what Arms is up to these days (like you, I love that Tawiah remix, think I discovered it via Tim F enthusing at length about it), but the other half of Ear Dis is Spoonface, who is still repping funky as far as I can see:

Riddim Up EP

I particularly like the Chiny Wok Riddim off that EP, the Heatwave gave it away as a freebie if I recall correctly, but their site is currently under reconstruction so I can't link it. Not on youtube, neither.

Ah yes, I forgot about spoonface. I put 'Ring Ding Riddim' in that instros mix I did a while back. He's got a good sound.

Ridiculously dramatic MIDI horn riffs like this one seem to have left Funky now haven't they?

Makes me wonder what the Ear Dis album was like now, I never did hear it.

I remember Ear Dis from Bassline days. What happened to T2? Remember when I posted that upload of his album and someone like Bok Bok came on here and told me to remove it because it would probably be sold in shops and I would ruin it. Now I don't have that album anymore. Has anyone here got it? Had some tunes about cycling on there.

I wouldn't bother with that Greenmoney mix though.

But yeah that Sunday Roast mix is a bit hit or miss, some great stuff, some bad stuff.

Just had a fairly mad couple of weeks where I couldn't get online very much, so catching up on all the new stuff on this thread now. Big up you lot. :)

3 funky mixes from 2011 I can listen to over and over again:

Fuzzy Logik on Kiss 100
(first 30 minutes or so)

Andy J & S Tee - Radio raving mix on 1Xtra

G Smallz - Original UK Funky mix

pretty sure the first two have been mentioned on here but they are good enough to be brought up again...the G Smallz one is just a very good instrumentals mix, reminiscent of early days funky... shame there's no tracklist...

was the night at Hidden badly attended then?

It wasn't fantastically attended, have to say, compared to when I've been there before. Ill Blu room was pretty empty, as said (may have got more busy when Sticky came on, didn't stay late); grime room was packed, not sure who was on cos my knowledge of grime these days is very low, but that was what most people had come for. Seemed to be a very studenty crowd (which is far better than crowds of 'professionals' in my recent experience, quite friendly and far less coke about), very white in the main.

I think Hidden might just not be well advertised/Vauxhall is a bit out of the centre?
