what do we think of the UAE and Bahrain normalizing ties with Israel? is it real? will it lead to anything?

since I'm seeing everything through an election-year lens, i keep thinking it's a trump administration ploy, to exaggerate the situation and brag about "peace in the Middle East, mission accomplished!". on the other hand, I don't see the Middle East as that big of an issue with US voters.

UAE/Israel relations have existed for ages, maybe it's significant that they can declare them openly, but in any case it's all for show. Netenyahu waving blank papers when he announced it apparently.
