Got 'My Life In The Bush of Ghosts' on just now ...sounds totally different to what I expected. I like it.
Actually something I could definitely say re: the thread is that the bonus tracks on the recentish reissue / remaster of this are excellent.

sweet. there was a trailer with actual scenes from the documentary about them a while ago, jamming under an open air shelter in a park near the kinshasa zoo while it was raining... wicked that was. seems it dissapeared from youtube though now that they re taking the documentary to Cannes and other festivals... hope it's gonna be shown here too in the next months!
Also, there was a recording of the dude, Roger Landu apparently -courtesy of wikipedia knowledge, with the self made tin-can guitar, jamming for about 5 minutes just by his own.... but that also seemed to have dissapeared from youtube...
damn you youtube and your short lived content!

obvious, but how can a sample be this good...*

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

*very much in favour of sampling. just that this is off the proverbial hook and then some...

Edit: Oh my god i love talking heads. david byrne is as near as dammit to God.

I'd never realised what the (Jada?) sample was saying before (was just floored by the beauty of the Dionne Warwick cut-up) - blew my mind :(

Only social realism from Rick.

is not like other people
This is kind of funny, a tune from Necro's new LP sampling Shocking Blue. The overall effect is slightly ICP so be warned.

yeah, i love 'hey young world' - always listen to it to cheer me up. Wasnt' it sampled in 'Time's Up', to further increase its greatness? 'Teenage Love' too, which sounds like it could be an outtake song from Just Another Girl on the IRT (I love that film :) )

Not sure what my favourite is, but this is a peach:

and this
