New York Reality TV School

I find the idea of this incredibly depressing.

"Every week thousands of people audition for Reality TV shows, the competition is fierce and the odds of making it past the first round of submissions are slim. Do you know what it takes to get noticed? And if you are fortunate enough to be called in, will you be able handle the pressure of this once in a lifetime opportunity?"
Even with television as it is surely this represents a new low... a perfect example of culture eating itself. If reality television is to have any merit at all surely it is that the people involved are at least supposed to be in some sense real? Even if, as we all know, every media-aware contestant or person who appears on them is of course projecting an idealised (well, a fake) version of themselves this open admission of that seems to be entirely self-defeating and ought to be some kind of nail in the coffin of the whole, already totally debased, concept. I guess no one will care though and they will keep on getting made and the barrel scraped further and further.
I suppose it's not all bad though

Maybe it's a joke. Can someone tell me this is a joke?
