No Future for the GOP?

Mr. Tea

Shub-Niggurath, Please
I've told you this in threads before Tea, your vision of what is "obviously" the "natural" interpretation is so hopelessly biased by your own partisan agenda that you misread things, jump to conclusions, and then claim it's inevitable.
Yes Gus, I fully understand your position as a sort of political Taoist, or Newtonian, for whom Democrats and Republicans are like yin and yang, or a pair of opposed forces: precisely equal in every way, equally good and equally bad, equally lawful and equally crooked, and that to criticise one without criticising the other marks one out as hopelessly, incorrigibly biased.

(Although, now that I think about it, I must have missed all the hundreds of times that you've no doubt taken someone here to task for being hopelessly biased after they criticised Obama, or Biden, or either of the Clintons, or the Democratic party in general.)

isn't that former trump press sec Kayleigh McEnany?
To be honest they all look pretty much the same to me (well ok this particular foxbot either has abnormally sized cheeks, or else she's already started storing her winter supply of acorns there) but I had automatically assumed McEnema would be working for Fox and spouting precisely this kind of drivel right now so that seems like a pretty reasonable hypothesis.

The black vertical keeps fooling me into thinking she's holding up an umbrella
It's really annoying when a picture of someone misleads you into thinking something that is not true for a few seconds every time you look at it, before your brain kicks in and explains to you what is really going on, isn't it?

This week in "Are Republicans human?":

A Republican candidate favored to win a seat in the Michigan House said he tells his daughters to “just lie back and enjoy it” if raped, as he attempted to make an analogy about abandoning efforts to decertify the results of the 2020 election.

.....

Other comments by Regan surfaced online after a clip of the live stream went viral, including a 2021 Instagram post from the candidate in which he claimed that feminism is a “Jewish program to degrade and subjugate White men.” Regan has also called the Russian invasion of Ukraine a “fake war just like the fake pandemic.

They really give a ton of credit to this Jewish Elite. Simultaneously faking a global pandemic and a war between nation-states? At that point, you'd think they would just acknowledge how impressive and capable this elite is.

I mean, yeah, if they're that clever then they pretty much deserve to rule the world, when you think about it.

Oh, I did see some headline about Trump supporting some quarterback politician.

Trump’s big lie, that his 2020 election was stolen? Seventy-four percent of white evangelical Republicans believe that’s mostly or completely accurate. Only 54% of non-evangelical Republicans do.

Reading the bit that Leo quoted, naturally I assumed Walker was white, which is itself a statistically sound assumption, of course. But it is interesting to observe how these assumptions are adjusted once one learns that Walker is black.

One kneejerk black liberal take, voiced by the likes of my grandmother, would be that Walker is essentially an Uncle Tom figure. Younger black liberals may not use that term or even agree, and most white liberals understandably wouldn't be comfortable using that term, although they may still agree.

Its as if the likes of Walker, in the minds of many liberals, is deprived of a sort of ideological autonomy by virtue of his being black and Trump-friendly.
