No Future for the GOP?

tucker Carlson talks to millions of Fox News viewers every night for a week straight about "replacement theory", so I guess anything goes at this point.

"Progeny of architecture" doesn't even make sense. Not that that's ever stopped people from holding horrific views before, I guess.

Why are they talking about architecture of all things?

trump actually issued an executive order that all future government buildings had to be designed in a "classical architecture", none of this degenerate modernist design. It was universally ridiculed but version is right, it was a slightly unsettling directive.

Biden, of course, reversed it in his first month in office.

They want every aspect of society to reinforce their politics. Y'know, like the Nazis. They'll probably be going on about "degenerate art" next.
I understand that of course architecture is just another aspect of society that they ultimately want to control in totality..... but the idea that Marjorie Green or any of these Trumplicans has any kind of knowledge of architectural styles, or even the interest in aesthetics that could possibly push someone in the direction of learning the very basics about architecture is so patently ludicrous it's seems insane to put it so prominently on the manifesto.
I can imagine if they study hard then possibly they could manage to grasp something of what a mosque looks like and identify its weak spots for when they order a bulldozer to knock it down.... even so I can't help thinking of that NF video (or whatever it was) when they were in Brighton filming how many brown people there were and the disgraceful amount of mosques they had been allowed to build, and how they were especially enraged by that huge, ostentatious one near the front which you and I know as the Royal Pavilion.

But what I find so odd about this is, if you put Trump in front of a line of like ten buildings, I strongly doubt that he would be able to identify which ones were modernist or neo-classical or whatever. The whole thing seems so odd, who was the person telling Trump to pretend to care deeply about architectural styles cos it would improve his standing in the polls? Did they think it would? Did it?
The weird thing about this there probably are a load of conservatives who have no idea either but when they hear Trump saying he supports the classic stuff they are pleased to hear him say it cos it sounds as though he knows what he's talking about and it pisses off the Libs.
Kinda like when they did that poll asking if kids should study Arabic numerals in school and the Republicans were strongly against it, they obviously had no idea what they were but they knew they didn't like them.

it's purely symbolic, and entirely in line with their desires to turn back the clock to a time when everything was better (ie, whiter, conservative, hetro...MAG AGAIN, rejection of all things progressive ). outlaw these elitist, effete "modern" buildings most likely designed by foreigners, preserve the macho anglo "classic" architecture.
