No Future for the GOP?

I'd like to read that article to get a better sense of things before I make such claims, but I suspect this is a right wing vision I'd have an easier time working with than the whole MAGA thing, or Qanon for that matter. In fact I wouldn't disregard the possibility that a right-wing flank of the web3 democracy movement could be forged here, especially if the Forward Party ends up championing the tech -IE we could have a potential "forwardist" enclave in the GOP.

Actually these notions of patchwork government (a collection of hundreds, if not thousands of DAOs qua microstates) and exit rights (refundable, non-transferable governance tokens), which are at least commonly attributed to Yarvin, are front and center in the movement I'm working in.

The idea here is that self-sovereignty may be reconcilable with community in exciting new ways. I've been calling it communitarian capitalism, and its well hinted at in this paper:

Thiel is a big investor in certain DAOs, but I don't know if Yarvin has gotten into web3 yet. Incidentally I listened to an audiobook of Vance's Hillbilly Elegy a few years back as well.

If something like this seems feasible, or if we at lobby3 manage to connect with them in some capacity, I'd be inclined to market such a nascent plan as a "bold new vision" for the grand old party, and hopefully it could supplant much of the existing right-wing nonsense that presently prevails. As for how to account for the left-wing, UBI may be an integral aspect to what we're building, and we may have new tools to better enable communities to manage capital - rather than capital being managed by the executive individual at one end, or a totalitarian state at the other.

Yang's platform may end up being quite the vehicle for a dialectical blitz of political overhaul, especially if it heralds the onset of a programmatic new age of self-sovereignty and community values.

We're also thinking about starting this "civic engagement wallet" with an outreach program aimed at high schools and universities, as well as certain impoverished municipalities. Personally I'm in favor of even giving some high school students membership tokens for Lobby3, and really I think its just a matter of presentation, proposal-wise, to get something like this passed with an on-chain vote.

you should read it. it's essentially an authoritarian vision, dressed up in a "for the common man" veneer. liberal elites, the media, academia, and big tech are all in cahoots to maintain a society that benefits only them and disregards rural America, so the answer is to wreck the system replace it all with leaders who know better (who, btw, are referred to in other parts of the world as a strongman) and will somehow magically transform the lives of former factory workers and other left behind communities (although they never explain exactly how that would happen). I get the desire to help the segment of the population who have been left behind by progress, I'd love for that to happen. but these New Right people never actually say how they plan to do it (and please don't tell me blockchain will solve their problems).

it's not utopian. it's the desire to replace one structure and set of rulers with another structure and group of leaders. meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

and one comical aspect is this finger pointing at big tech as a boogie man by candidates and current politicians who used to work for Peter Thiel, still work for Peter Thiel, or whose campaign are underwritten by Peter Thiel. really?

This is pretty wild: Lauren Boebert, Candace Owens and other MAGA-type women may have been recruited using a 'talent' agency specializing in recruiting women for jobs as soft-porn pin-up type models...

This is all of a piece with something else I've noticed, which is the tendency of ultra-right-wing MAGA ladies to resemble a cross between a soul-sucking she-demon from the bowels of hell, a washed-up porn star who was kind of big 20 years ago and who occasionally still makes a 'sexy stepmom' video for the fans, and a very hungry snake:

The only part of this comment I'd question is the word 'resemble'

Flynn, Stone and a bunch of others are currently doing some tour called ReAwaken America where they're combining Christian Nationalism, COVID conspiracy theories and everything else you'd expect.

... a nationwide series of megachurch engagements featuring a who’s who of far-right religious extremists, Trump aides, QAnon conspiracy theorists, and other reckless figures ...

Stone revved up the crowd with at times bizarre conspiratorial claims. “There is a satanic portal above the White House, you can see day and night. It exists. It is real. And it must be closed. And it will be closed by prayer,” he said.

“If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion,” Flynn said. “One nation under God and one religion under God, right? All of us, working together.”

At the South Carolina rally, Flynn proclaimed that the US has a “biblical destiny”,

There's not much about UK politics that gives me any comfort these days, but when I look at America, I can only be thankful that we don't have either a gun lobby, or (unless you live in Northern Ireland) much of a Christian fundie lobby.

trump world has always been stacked with grifters, just looking for what they can make money from. their reputations are such that they can't get actual jobs, who the hell would hire Roger stone?

read a good one today: don jr. sent an email blast encouraging people to sign the ONLY AUTHENTIC digital birthday card for daddy (donation required, of course).

Lest any Trump supporters think they could honor his birthday differently, the message warned: “This is President Trump’s ONLY Official Birthday Card. So make sure you sign THIS ONE and not the other fake ones out there.” The email, sent out on June 14, Trump’s birthday, also contained a note of urgency: “HURRY—there’s not much time left. I can only save your spot for 20 MINUTES.”

So now it turns out that Boebert had two abortions while working as a prostitute, with clients including Ted 'PornHub' Cruz and a prominent Koch (no sniggering at the back there!). Under other circumstances I'd say it was a bit shitty for details of a woman's private life to be made public like this - or a man's, but it's generally women who are subjected to prurient character assassinations of this sort - but given that she's trying to deprive other women of the right to have a procedure that she's benefited from, she can frankly get fucked, and not in the fun way.

What, that sounds as though you just made up some scandalous lies and chucked in some prominent GOP guys, is that true?

Has anyone seen that? I've seen pics of the White House but maybe it's quite high, just out of shot?

That's great. Does anyone reading that think "sometimes I feel they're just after my money" or are they simply too busy rushing to read through the details and send the money off before their 20 minutes expire?
