It was alleged, but the replay was fairly conclusive that it wasn't. Very fine margins France inexplicably put 7 men in a crucial scrum near the end and lost the ball, lunatics. As said in the commentary, the match was like a parade of French rugby stereotypes - the first 15 mins of unplayable mavericks turning up after a mediocre pool phase, to undisciplined violence and crackpot decisions to lose the match at the end.
That was traumatic. Total dominance. It's a brilliant rugby side. Itoje has got the infuriating demeanour of a man who knows he can physically outmatch anyone on the field. He's a Titan. I've never been cOnvinced by the Barrett era I said so before the lions tour and nothing has changed since. Hope Wales can do the job tomorrow
I don't watch the All Blacks that much, but the number of mistakes they made seemed incredible, even on top of those forced by England. England never looked remotely like losing, and the 7 points they did concede came from a nervous blunder.
Itoje picked up where he left off on the Lions tour. Player of the series then, and player of the match today. And I don't much like Eddie Jones, but he's a master at what he does - seems like he must have (one of) the best records v the ABs of any current coach?
I do hope Wales turn up tomorrow. Thank god Jonathan Davies is back, because he's been really missed - the back line has looked toothless without him. I'd say after last week it's a 30:70 chance, but we have won the last four(?) against them.
Gatland's tactics can fuck off. We would have beaten SA if we'd had the nerve to run at them more often. Well, run round them, not at them (which is what we did. Repeatedly, Endlessly. Running into a wall.)
