Don't really get Drexciya tbh. They are ok. I like the ethos. Music is not as good as Jeff. What really pisses me off is the cult around them and all the t shirt lads. It's fake devotion

I like everything Gerald Donald and James Stinson have ever done :D

Being able to take pleasure in things is a great gift and I'm not here to snatch it away from you. A thousand blessings and may you continue to love the music of Drexciya for the rest of your days.

This one's peculiar. Soft, almost Buddah Lounge ('Holiday' theme tune) piano with that brittle funky loop underneath it.

Listening to some of their more hard/robotic stuff I think I'm beginning to see (or hear, rather) where third might be coming from.

e.g. Positron Island

I was always mainly into their more sunny but otherworldly melodic stuff that sounded like video game music, e.g.

This is IMO one of the greatest tunes ever made.

I think what really separates drexciya out from most techno/electro I've heard is the emotional mood their music creates. The combination of the sorts of sounds they use and the harmonics, it's (to be cliched about it) an alien sound, where you get glimpses of human beauty/emotion coming through but all filtered through this dry, brittle, elegant, alien soundgridfasfkanfklns.

I'M JUST FARTING OUT WORDS.

But there's a kernel of truth there.

worst tune no idea why its famous. check live at liquid room tokyo 1995 thats good. my techno listening is pretty much defined by him, cos he was playing out at the time i was going out. i saw him at sonar 2001 and some cheerleaders came out. in this huge expo hall thing. so packed and everyone fucked and happy. there was a little spanish guy who had a small chair and everyone got to have a go standing on it. someone had a slash on the dancefloor and no-one gave a fuck. was surreal.i don't really listen to him anymore, but that CD was a goodun. my mate lent it me and i lent i lost it, he had to buy it again.

A lot of these musics I pop up to say I don't like, it's cos I don't like em.

It's based on very limited listening really, I'm willing to change my mind though.

I think the times not right for me, as in, I don't really listen to much old music, and I have fondness for certain bits that I used to listen to obsessively, and very little else.

I'd love it if I could join the drexciya cult, get the t shirt, but I don't like it that much.

Believe you me, no one is looking for conversion, with regard to music, as much as me. I was even listening to some drill earlier.
