Good thread. I use the TDK ones mainly (DVD-R) which I've found have a kinda 95 percent rate per hundred of burning. I get them from that place in Whitechapel if you're in London, mucho cheapo. Cant remember name of it at the moment.

I wish I could find blank DVDRs that were either plain white (printable) or plain black that weren't shit. The last batch I used only about 50 percent of them came out, fucking awful.

I usually save on USB sticks now, but I used to burn a lot of stuff... problem is, after a couple of years most my CDRs did that thing where they flake off around the edges and stop working. Lost a lot of mp3s that way.

My mate has these weird orange ones that are thicker than usual and weather/scratch resistant, more expensive but tough as nails. I don't remember the brand tho, it's meant to be the best.

What I dislike about burning things off a PC is that you dont always know whether its going to work. My hi-fi CDR machine has a 'finalise' function that you need to do to complete the recording. PC's need to do this but I suspect they dont half the time. Is there a way to finalise discs in Vista?
