Denver have the right amount of heavy and the right amount of crazy right now to take on a team held up by an elemental force like LeBron James.

that is a sentence worthy of the better moments of freedarko.

emphasis on "the right amount of crazy", especially tempered by, as you say, Billups even-handedness. I guess I can see JR Smith hitting eight 3s, K-Mart randomly having a crazy game, that kinda thing. but they'd have to get lucky, cos I don't think there's any way they could win legit.

really I wonder what would've happened if Yao hadn't got hurt yet again, cos I reckon they would've taken that series & likely beat the Nuggets, & out of all those teams I reckon the Rockets may have actually been the best bet against the Cavs, being as they can play tough guy/defense/hit you in the mouth Cavs basketball, & Artest/Battier combo might wear down even LBJ over 7 games.

Story of Yao's life. I was really looking forward to a Nuggets Rockets match-up. I think a showdown between them and the Cavaliers would have been epic.

This will be a good series. Orlando, however, are going to get bitch-slapped.

This is something I said. Now I am eating my words.

Nuggets v. Magic final anyone? That'll confuse people after all the money and effort spent on generating and maintaing Lebron vs. Kobe mania.

who will win?

Sadly I no longer care. My dream of a Cavaliers vs Nuggets final is a distant memory and we are all left with the immensely boring 3-point up 3-point down back-and-forth of the Lakers/Magic series.

Summary so far:

Game 1: Magic played terribly. Lakers won by a lot, but this isn't much of a surprise considering.

Game 2: Both teams played poorly but the Lakers won.

Game 3: I don't know, I fell asleep before half time. Orlando won.

EDIT: Oh by the way, the Lakers will win.

This is mostly just for Padraig because I don't know who else has an interest in this thread but: have you been paying attention to the transfers this summer?

Some really ludicrous ones, and some slightly cynical ones (Shaq to Cleveland? Come on.), but Toronto just scored, via an incredibly shrewd deal by their GM, Hedo motherfucking Turkoglu. Thank god for that.

Aside from that though:

Magic giving up Alston and Lee for Vince Carter = air
Rasheed Wallace to the Celtics = air
Ben Gordon to Detroit = air
Blake Griffin being drafted by the Clippers' 1st pick = hahaha, sorry Blake

Lakers trading Trevor Ariza for Ron-Ron = totally beyond me, but it's Phil Jackson so he must have some sort of reason for that. It's not a bad trade, it's just completely fucking weird.

I've watched loads of Steven Adams videos recently. Partly I just like hearing Kiwi accents cos I associate it with feeling happy and safe.
