I got told off years ago on this forum for being negative (about Scritti Politti...) and kinda don't like this thread for that, it's mean. So here's my press release for my CD/DVD. I think that evens it up, for me, anyway. Destroy at your leisure.

My first CD and DVD is now available to buy. It is a double disc.

Desdichados is a collection of 11 synthetic orchestral works by James B.L. Hollands. Comprising the soundtrack to my last two video works - Telepathy 101 and The White Queen - alongside extra tracks, Desdichados is a mournful, exhilarating take on classical music, using techniques influenced by hiphop, grime and avant-garde rock alongside influences of minimalists such as Terry Riley.

Meaning "unhappy or disinherited ones", Desdichado as a term was first mentioned in Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. It was then used as the title of a poem (El Desdichado) by Gerard De Nerval, appearing in his collection "Les Chimeres". The poem was later quoted by TS Eliot in 'The Wasteland", which circularly is also quoted in the surtitles of "The White Queen".

The soundtrack for Telepathy 101 was originally released as a limited edition cassette by Entracte Records

and there are still copies left. Only two of the tracks on 'Desdichados' are on the cassette in a similar form, the others being remixed.

Desdichados comes as a CD and DVD - on the DVD is a.mov file of 'Telepathy 101' in its mind-bending 2012 version.

does anyone know of any halfway decent PRs for DJs in the states? a friend says he knows a "young up and coming DJ" who looking, appreciate any thoughts.

i know nothing about this area...does PR sometimes get handled by managers/bookers or usually by a separate dedicated person?

I can't help but feel it's a bit unfair to include copy written by people who clearly have a pretty shaky grasp of English (on account of being non-native speakers as opposed to just retards).

now this thread has gained a conscience it's not fun any more

I mean it's good but it means I feel guilty about posting stuff

where do you draw the line? Obviously you can't guarantee that any given PR hasn't been disadvantaged in life by factors beyond their control. At the very least they might be dyslexic.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's still hilariously awful. :) The poor English merely compounds what would probably be a pretty naff bit of copy even in Italian.

And if you're dyslexic (with no way of mitigating it) you probably shouldn't be writing PR material in the first place...

This makes me think of some next-level Einsturzende Neubauten gig, with them symbolically demolishing an old prison or something by farting into microphones connected to gigawatt amplifiers.
