i found this thread quite inspirational so i went down the shop and got some oven chips, some cheese some sliced jalapenos some guacamole and some salsa and had a beer while i waited for the chips to cook. i wasn't drunk by the time i got the food ready but i was still a bit hungover from last night.
it was decliious i reccommend this to anybody/

Yeah, I did this with potato-wedges once, well nice.

Sweet jesus I hadn't seen this before. I reckon the awesomeness would be multiplied by southern fried or curly fries. Definitely getting this on the go sharpish.

The burger looks great - chips look fucking minging though.

(Then again, I'm not sure I'd have room for chips after devouring that bastard...)

Man Vs Food is the best TV concept of recent years. Spied it on a flight late last year and that chap's been my food hero ever since. Some of the places he visits make me feel proper hard done by with the merely above-par culinary offerings we have here in Glasgow. Wish I could go and chow down on 8 pounds of taco meat whenever I felt like it :(

jeez, i can only conclude most of you don't know good drunk food...

kudos to lamajuns definitely, whether in berlin, nyc, or ldn, a sureshot! i find that often a doner (or gyro, schwarma, whatever...) is too big and greasy and you feel sick afterwards, whereas a lamajun (or two) tends to go down just right w/ not too much grease...

yunno, i am just not that crazy about poutine... given my druthers in montreal, i'll take a smoked meat sandwhich as drunk food... actually that is one of the best feelings on eart, sitting down in schwartz's blitzed at 1am and getting a smoked meat sandwhich, fries, and some pickles... also, a hot bagel or two right outta the oven from the spots on st. viatur is pretty golden, too...

street tacos are pretty high on the list... good pizza is also a solid yes... a good diner or coffee shop (turkey club and fries, do they have club sandwhiches in england? i never noticed before...) is also a go... also, sometimes a big breakfast (eggs, bacon, potatos, toast) is the best thing before bed...

zhao, i never been to the spot you are praising... on the west coast i def vouch for the 24 hr carne asada burritos spots, tho... fast food wise, i do love how you can get chili on everything in socal...

a nice real deal hamburger (corner bistro, maybe) also does the job...

i do appriciate people making the distinction between Drinking Food and Drunk Food, tho... like wings are drinking food, chips (fries) are drunk food...

yeah tacos, bagels, and Montreal smoked meat FTW; and distinctions between drinking and drunk food, buffalo wings - and pork scratchings, though not together! - possibly my utter, utter fave drinking snacks right now

gotta give a mention to the humble British chip, soared away from its continental mainland origins in many ways, the fat British chip is infinitely superior to fries, drunk, tipsy or sober (though in a Belgian gaff w a pot of aioli i grant you, crisp, slim fries are very nice), if you can get em from a place that is still doing it in dripping even more so... ...i had a very good club sandwich at some (nominally) Danish bar here in Mcr the other day, so that's a yes on club sandwiches in England, though far from American coverage or standards across the country

having spent about two years of my life drinking across the lower 48 (well, alright, not Montana or Vermont) would have to concur, Luka.

that Everclear's an interesting drop, mind.

What? At 11am?

I can assure you Americans do get drunk. I am half of an American, and I'm drunk roughly a quarter of the time.
