garage dubs
some of you will remember that 'garage dubs' comp bringing together the more dub/reggae/ragga garage/2step tunes...when did it come out? 2001? 2002? anyone know who was behind it?
point taken and a good point, but my 'smoke and mirror' alarms did go off. i'll reign in my cynicism, you cast a more powerful spell next time. and as devils broth says, all this talk is just increasing the mystery...
ok - as i said - that's how it reads to me, but happy to be proved wrong . looking forward to the album anyway. and looking forward to when the mysterious mr burial makes his public debut. if he ever does....
proabably to create a bit of mystery - woooh. rumours already mentioned in interview.
there's this producer and nobody's ever met him except kode 9 - yeah right.
reference points are just too perfect - too much following the current party political line - foul play, hyper-on experience, photek...
just used to be like a sunday night garage dance - had the germs of the current fwd scene there i guess but a bit more dressy, more girls. kode9 was about, hatcha was about - used to play garage on upfront fm, went quite a few times, but can only remember seein slaughter mob there who changed...
makin it dubdubdub narrows down the possibilities...
i'd like to see a bit more garage/2-step influence there...
fwd used to be a garage club when it was at velvet underground. there were girls there an everything...
that dub stuff is so boring - reggae sample, b-line, reverb - music by numbers. and don't make me laugh - dub is such boys music. you make it sound like it's either dub or tech. it's not. needs more step.
