Gang of 4 were shit. Discuss.

Ugly bad. Entertainment is painful to hear. The first time I heard "I Love A Man in a Uniform" I thought it was a joke, it's so sloppy and hamfisted in trying to convey a point the band probably thought was clever. Take that military dudes. Along with Mission of Burma this is one of the worst...

Chicago, luv it. Dig grime but mostly just hear the big things and misc. DJ mixes and radio clips that drift onto the net.

Breaking News: RZA completely jocks Wiley

Heh, I wrote about this a month ago - "Bouncy rubber bass over grime clicks. Sounds like Wiley snuck into the studio and took over" - but didn't consciously make the connection. It's interesting to hear in mainstream rap, I wonder if it has any future there.

    Scissor Sisters.

"Comfortably Numb" is great, the album is mostly good (although some of the unreleased tracks are better). That cover of "Take Me Out" on Fluxblog was sorta interesting although you only need to listen to it twice. The "everything should be more falsetto" remix aesthetic works well for them...

    Cheerleading music

Cheerleading / (American) football culture is very big in the states, although cheerleading is not considered a sport, to some people's chargin. Sporting events are still one of the only avenues through which electronic/dance music infiltrates mainstream American culture. "Bring It On" is a...

One of those ppl who vote on "values" doesn't like my blog :(

I have so many sarcastic responses, but none of them do justice. Dear Black People: We gave you the right to vote and that was a pretty big deal. But if you can't play better basketball, we're sending you back to the cotton fields. Sorry, but that's the way of the world. Yours truly, White...

    Houston hip-hop radio

I might have to tune in for this... if I get home from the Diplo set before 3 am.

    Odb R.I.P.

A sad day. I wish I could I was shocked, but all the reports about his concerts and public appearances have suggested he has been teetering on the edge of something for the last year and a half. I think everyone was hoping that he would come out of jail and his life would turn around, and some...

    Aesthetics of Cool

When I first started reading about grime on blissblog and "eski," "Ice Rink," "Igloo" - I at first thought "innit" was some misspelling/slangerization of innuit which just made me wonder more about this weird East London / Polar Circle musical axis.
