A bully is 'a person who habitually seeks to harm or intimidate those whom they perceive as vulnerable'. If you think that Vikings raping and pillaging was a necessary part of the war effort then presumably you'd be perfectly fine with even an exaggerated version of Israel's doings in Gaza.
my objection to what Israel is doing isn't moral, but mathematical. They are usufructuary traitors to the health of the species and must be punished accordingly. which they will. They can win innumerable battles, but their 3.5 million problem will only intensify.
Israel cannot win the war longterm. It is logistically and mathematically impossible. Just like those opposing the french revolution were dissolved in the solvent of history, israel courting forces who are inherently hostile to it on the ideological plane (chiefly christian europe and America) will be their undoing. Any true zionist would have seen the balfour declaration as the christianisation of zionism, and unfortunately it was only Borochov (who died a few days before the declaration) who acknowledged that Turkish Palestine was a good thing for zionism. The illegal settlements for your American mates are not profitable as such, what they do is take strain off the investment geared towards the defence industry, as arms production does not produce commodities available on the market for immediate sail and consumption.
Jabotinsky was incorrect. Israel did never become the iron wall that arabs are forced to negotiate with (precisely because they have become the watchdog of the US) only a spectacle for inter-ruling class resistance. In this sense, it is no coincidence that the occupation benefits arab oil rentier economies — there is also the secret to hamas' anachronistic radicalism, albeit very much the traditionalism you like to exhume your flaccid okra over. Internal productive sectors destroy conservative islamism through the expansion of the domestic labour force.
Unfortunately your characteristically English analytic temperament (
@germaphobian would be proud) and its corresponding inability to arrange things in a systematic manner has meant you've reduced hamas to an amalgam of millwall bushwackers and you can only see immediate interests, rather than defences of a mode of production and living.
