    nah i don't agree with that really, just look at old chicago house etc., very sensitive and sometimes very reserved music... although if you're speaking uk then I know what you mean. but british people don't like to show their sensitivity that much.. its strange, as for all the talk of brits...

    Squarepusher is good man, and so is a lot of IDM.. DNTEL, rephlex stuff, some aphex, a bit of tycho, album leaf... but then again I'm half American.

    It can quite easily sound bolted on or self consious... Thats not to say that it was created in a certain way, but sometimes to a listener, you can feel if things have almost been forced.. I also think its more of a comment to do with the fact that producers tend to hop on trends quite quickly...

    I don't reckon 'Black Sun' is a dark funky track, more warped and hazy then dark. My perception could be skewed though as I don't like Kode's output that much (and don't like Black Sun much either)... The detuned synth sound is usually pretty shite and is compensating for something. Funky...
