Overheard conversations/monologues

I'm reading a book of V.S. Pritchett's travel writing, and one thing I like about his writing is how he notes down conversations he's overheard, and captures something of the regional characteristic use of language or just of human oddity in general.

I hate starting a thread like this without an example of my own, but I don't have one for now. I'll keep an ear out though.

something of the regional characteristic use of languag

I almost started another thread about slang, as I'm wondering if regional language use is dying out with the advent of the internet.

There's this american buzzfeedy sort of language that I've noticed younger people in the UK using - "I can't", "X is everything", etc. I guess when I was a teenager I was using americanisms, too (and probably still do).

Quite like the idea of a sci fi story in which robots have learned to speak by processing website headlines

Must be tough for kids to carve out a space for themselves when their language is instantly stolen by "on trend" brands.

"At Meryl Lynch we can't even."

Epstein's blue striped markings are symbolic of an age-old lucifarian transgenerational elite cult whose goal is to eradicate Christ and permanently install the reign of evil on earth - The House of Lusignan. Others in the [family] are the Rothschilds and Windsors. #DarkToLight

Beast of Burden
I once subtly shadowed two City-type guys who had been dragged to Tate Modern by their WAGS and were not very impressed. They spent the whole visit going from exhibit to exhibit and sarcastically and loudly reading out the Tate blurb. It was funny because they had a good point - the Tate blurbs are atrocious PoMo verbiage. It was a refreshing running commentary and one of my more entertaining visits to the gallery.
