i find it hard to listen to people i know sing. it's like how i was saying i freak out when people leave me a voice message....

there's a few things in my life i regret saying, things i've just instinctively blurted out that later in life i realised maybe were a bit hurtful or tactless and one of top ones is when woebot released his singing album and i said something like matthew must have finally cracked up

and i think it was becuase it had a similar quality to your singing here which is a complete absolute vulnerability and nakedness. a total inability to protect itself and armour itself

I’m not a terribly polished singer - well, I sang in church choirs, but that’s not a terribly assertive style of singing, and I never have learned to belt. One of the reasons the majority of songs have widdly guitar soloes on them is that I want there to be at least a bit where I’m doing something I’m good at

It’s absolutely all me, for better or worse. The drums are programmed because I don’t have a drumkit or any ability at all to play them.

I wanted the guitar soloes to sound like I’d called in some favours with Richard Thompson, Alex Lifeson, Andrias O’Gruama et al, but I don’t honestly think anyone will be fooled

Fairly unlikely, given the time it would take to rehearse a live band for it. Might adapt one or two tunes for solo performance…

I don't know what your voice sounds like from talking, don't think I'd blink if something like Lady Alice came on in shuffle, the vocal line is totally serviceable and works, song is lovely, I like co-codamol too, only heard the first handful so far tho
