I happened to glimpse the 10 o'clock news last night as i hung up the washing - a quintessential BBC moment

they had jeremy bowen among heavily armed israeli tourists watching gaza through telescopes and proclaiming that because hamas was elected democratically and attacked israel thus all palestinians can be targeted, followed by a short item about a far right rioter who died in prison, followed by a much longer item about the prison martyrdom of navalny, also a far right activist in earlier times - a strange array of factoids - BBC world is a lurid and wobbly place
  1. so what to do about the bbc the state broadcaster but independent, neither fish nor fowl, strung up between the 2 getting shit from all sides and under constant attack by the murdochsphere, mired in establishmentism and sex scandals...
still see #thearchers regularly trending on twitter tho
