There was that book about the difference between liberals and conservatives and how it all centres in disgust. They've done experiments with liberal and conservative mice that found that the conservatives felt sick at the sight of a discarded crisp wrapper while the liberal mice would happily roll around in their own shit.

Carl Schmitt's criticisms have been knocking around in my head for a few weeks since reading a bit about them. The Democrats in the US seem a prime example of the pitfalls of liberalism as they're forever trying to compromise with the Republicans whilst continually ceding ground and being slapped around.
It undermines their credibility somewhat when they're telling the public Trump's this apocalyptic threat then Obama's filmed joking around with him at a state function.
