Yeah, Tokyo's so big.
Do you have some friend(s) there to help show you around ?
If not , got to get to a club , record store and pick up fliers to ck what's on ...
There have been threads on Tokyo at least a few times here on Dissensus ... mucoh info in there too >
Otherwise: Club Unit is nice and large, good system, main stage room,
Saloon and a cafe where the food is good and place is pretty chill, likely to see the groups hanging out there before show
July 11 Moritz Von Oswald Trio 2 sets @ Unit . In Daikenyama
www.unit-tokyo.com
w/ Jah Light soundsystem in the Saloon
7/19 Drum & Bass Sessions , DubStep Wars > Mary Anne Hobbes , Logistics, Goth Trad, RIlla others
7/25 '4 hours of Detroit Roots'
7/26 Haus Tek Vol.6 Spectral Sound Label Party
A club lineup that sounds like pages taken right off the Dissensus music forum , for the most part.
Even if you don't go in ($), there are always piles of select fliers by the door
Also Bonjour Records not far from Unit, pretty good range of vinyl, CD's, books
and fliers , hot neighborhood.
If you haven't been then just watching people is enough entertainment
Also Spiral Records in Aoyama, ditto . Plus little gifts, souv's, nick nacks, design stuff.
Almost always worth a look -see
Kabukicho area - Back side of Shinjuku multi Asian food (Viet, Thai, Burmese, Cambod, everything -and usually cheaper then the Tokyo stuff) ,
also 'Golden Street' full of tiny bars and food
Osaka - Of course a different vibe in Osaka.
Ck Club Noon, under the train tracks . Good people
Great Okonmiyami within walking distance
No Kyoto or Nara huh ? maybe next time ...
It's getting to be end of rainy season in Japan, so it's Super humid and then hot in the weeks to come.
Dunno how familiar you are with this kind of Asian humidity ,
but one goes through at least a shirt a day in it.
Gets a bit hard to deal, watch out for crowd time trains in Tokyo ! plan around that
Happy travel man
