Why should the writers of a dramatization of a Soviet accident, cause by Soviet bureaucracy, crowbar in a critique of Western countries, beyond gratifying the Oedipal anti-government prejudices of progressive audiences? You're just demanding that they make the kind of propaganda you want to see.i finished it just now. watched the last two episodes. let me make a serious point, another one. when the writers, of below average, some would say subhuman, intelligence fail to extend the critque of ideology outwards to encompass us in the winner west, the whole spam face show feels like cheap propaganda, for a war which was won 25 years ago.
Just as well they didn't go into the response from Western countries then, I mean they'd probably have done something totally ridiculous like made the British PM a woman or whatever.i was, sort of joking, sort of serious, i felt it was a mistake and i didnt like it. it was clear to me that she was a made up character in a show which mostly stuck to the facts and that made me uncomfortable.
Haha, I'd silently made a bet with you that you would say exactly this, so now you owe me £5.Tea, you have missed my subtle point. try again, this time with your thinking cap on or you'll get detention this wednesday
I think she was an amalgamation of characters or something. But I agree doesn't necessarily sit comfortably with the fact that the main guy was real and the main bad guys were literally real.i was, sort of joking, sort of serious, i felt it was a mistake and i didnt like it. it was clear to me that she was a made up character in a show which mostly stuck to the facts and that made me uncomfortable.
Why can't we have both?she wasn't. she was a sop to the feminzi lobby
Fair enough, but had people stopped bothering even to be seen to pretend to be proper communists?Also... the weird guy who does that speech about belief in Lenin, Liza contends that that kind of communist fanaticism had been pretty much entirely replaced by cynicism by that point.
Nah I mean, SHE was a made up character, but I think she was meant to represent a number of strongly held views amongst scientists... but to make her this weirdly saintly woman was ideological.the peacemaker
