The Greek was such an intriguing character. I love that bit where Nick points out the innocuous old man in the photo and they suddenly realise he was there the whole time.

Also, that he says he's not even greek.

Id say the people are the bwo in relation to the zone in stalker. The zone lives on them and directs them around. theyre like puddy to be formed by the zone and what they experience in the zone is based on the potentialities they bring into it. just think of the bwo like clay or play doh

I've got the gist of the BwO now. It's basically 'The Zone' in GR. An unstructured field of flows and potentials. That's one version of it anyway.
the only time i felt i understood anything in these books was when i read a bit on acid and the idea of a 'body' or a self-formation as a kind of bandwidth which allowed for a particular range of affects while prohibiting others made perfect sense and suggested the ideal of a 'body' or self-formation without limit that could encompass and experience the full range of intensitites without any blocks or inhibitions

youve got to move on to the next term catalog your going to do your head in spiraling in on this one idea
i enjoyed the de landa i read, on vimothy's recc, as a way to get to grips with d&g, but not as much as i thought i would enjoy it.

the ideas seem a bit limited to me. or not limited, rather just a bit uninteresting? no explosive insights.

Reading philosophy had the effect of making me more interested in history.
its far too difficult for the likes of me and you. we are not abstract minds or intellectuals. we have to have examples and that. 'so what you are saying is...'

It's true, I quickly reach a limit of comprehension and patience with pure abstraction. I want to know why there are mounds of corpses and who is responsible for it.

i think you need a bit of the concrete to write well this is my opinion. i think me and craner have enough of the stupid bovine animal in us to give the writing at least some degree of in-the-worldness
