a mate had a “cardiac event” recently from working in A&E without a serious break during this entire fuckstorm. worked through every wave, 4 infections and the last omicron dosing finally caught up with him
diagnosis - acute, unchecked ptsd and now heart muscle damage too, so a strapping ex-marine who could smash a half marathon and still do complex maths currently resembles a furrow-browed, frail old man
dunno lads, how fucked does the nhs have to get for the public (how can I put this delicately) to interject? a previous 6 hour wait in A&E is now 12-18hours minimum and even then mistakes rising, opticians and dentistry gets pricey enough (and yes, we’re beyond lucky to have anything) - not a protest with fuckin placards, much much more a complete downing of all tools until a restructuring and recruitment plan is addressed, formulated and implemented
get it that’s not even the first letter of the first word of the first paragraph of an actual workable manifesto (or pledge to one) and yes Covid has compounded entrenched problems, but who else will provide solutions answers beyond the pvt sector given our current admin? a long-term, ideologically driven Tory ambition to privatise chunks of the nhs is finally reaching critical mass with big pharma peering back, as any working opposition with bite has evaporated
shit week, venting
