Lines of thought, thinkers, musical styles, whatever else, you feel should have been pursued further or merit reexamination. Forks in the road you feel should have gone the other way.
obvious from how i've been posting in other threads but late 90s-mid 2000s rap that couldn't be comfortably wrote off as either 'ignorant' nor 'conscious', certain musicality/sensibility in production that went with it - a sense of glitz and bombast without being plodding; feels like that median spot got scooped out around when blogs latched on to trap and drill and decided 90s rap was Washed and nothing has slotted into it since. i'm sure it's not the fault of music critics but commerical landscape of music being much more hostile
