theres a difference between a running joke and a reliance on 5 (being generous) 'arguments' which are applied to every conversation almost at random.
You just don't like something I've said but can't actually say why it's wrong, so you've done what you always do, and reverted to being a grumpy 8-year-old.

The internet is full of bots and actors on both sides of any argument, left or right. Covid is the most recent example but it applies to everything

There are fiscal or political interests everywhere trying to manipulate every situation

Look at spycops as an example. How long has that shit been going on

The difference now is that if something is exposed you just switch to your other 26 profiles

Got to face upto this shit

A team of US scientists working under the US Department of Defense has unveiled a microchip that it said can detect signs of the new coronavirus in human bodies within minutes when it is implanted under the skin.

Retired Colonel Matt Hepburn said that the implant invented by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), a Pentagon unit that develops emerging technologies for military use, can continuously test blood.

The influence of Amazon's really unsettling. I start to find myself not seeing any other retailer as trustworthy or valid when I use Amazon a lot and if Amazon don't stock something then I'm unsure where else to look. There's also the convenience/relative security of being able to get lots of things without having to set up accounts on lots of sites.

I've been seeing more and more of these ideas for programs where people are nudged and rewarded to behave certain ways, usually in relation to losing weight. There was one written about the other day re: Boris considering a scheme where families are rewarded for exercising. It's all very lab rat.

Only families? I would totally sign up for some cash reward and then fake my press-ups, burpies, star jumps, etc., totals for some extra cash - who is going to check?

The scheme will monitor family supermarket spending, rewarding those who reduce their calorie intake and buy more fruit and vegetables. People increasing their exercise by taking part in organised events or walking to school will also accumulate extra "points" in a new app.
Under the new plan, "loyalty points" accumulated would be exchanged for discounts, free tickets or other incentives.
Officials are considering going still further, with rewards linked to compliance with NHS checks, such as undergoing a smear, mammogram or health MOT.

How the hell does he get away with presenting this image of himself as a freedom-loving classical liberal? The mind boggles.

No idea. He appeared more or less just as you left and nobody else is the type to interrogate new users like you do, so he seamlessly became part of the forum.
