I'm always disappointed even when I go into it knowing I'll be disappointed. The takes will always be lower quality, less thought-through. No one will engage with the music itself, instead it'll be petty insults about how I'm a pedophile and my parents were shit.

Because you consciously engage with the musical values of this forum as an antagonist who thinks you're above them. You reap what you sew.

The thing about you Gus is you write well, no one disputes it but the thing you're writ g about is always completely superfluous. No one believes your writing about a thing. It's auto generating

No, it's just that your musical taste is contrary to the values of this bord. It's like me going on a balearic forum and talking about lt stitchy.
To some members of this board. Like... a vocal and established handful who are aging out of relevance. Preventing this board from being anything more. Rigid in their own sense of self and taste, unable to let novelty in, too scared of its threat to their identity.

No it's fucking not, I've listened to Ys literally hundreds of times, and care deeply about it.

And last time around, on the Polachek thread, you said exactly the opposite, that if I was actually impassioned about something I'd put more effort into defending it. And my defense above was impassioned and exceptional. Not just in style but in content. Not just quality but energy.

You could spin your shit about anything from a detergent bottle to a dog shit on the pavement and it wouldn't make the slightest difference

How many other people on this board put that kinda effort into arguing the merits of the things they care about

WYH's Top 100 springs to mind.

You haven't even listened to Ys, so you have no idea whether my remarks are spot on, and I assure you they are.

But I do think you can run your prose generation machine and the words will come regardless of the subject

Part of the reason I end up starting Polachek threads instead of threads of artists I actually care about is because at least then there's some distance, I might like Polachek but I'm not invested. I can't imagine actually putting up the albums or books that mean everything to me, just to watched them trashed and ridiculed and made small. Not "ripped to pieces" but shit on, polluted, deflated, lessened.

Also just look at my top 100. It's all over the place. hardly a dance music wank bank.
I've already given your musical opinions and preferences an order of magnitude more time than you have mine, i.e., more than I already should have.

And I'm tired.

As soon as I post anything not in line with orthodoxy, the immune response kicks in.
