Breakbeats and hoovers.

Inspired by the jungle/happy hardcore thread - a treasure trove of lost classics - I'm wondering if anybody has suggestions for good old hoovered-up breakbeat?

I'm fond of mentioning that this was my first vinyl purchase, at the tender age of 13:

Sadly my knowledge of that sound stops pretty much there.

Just love that hoover sound, though. I'm sure if I'd been around for Tony de Vit's heyday I would have been that kid sneaking into Trade at age 15 or whatever.

Hey Bandshell, do you know what mix of Close Your Eyes that is above? The only one I can find that sounds like it has a stupid Here Comes The Sun sample splashed over it, which is way too cheesy for me.

Pretty sure thats Acen - Close Your Eyes (Optikonfusion) Remix 1 on Production House. One of the first dance records I owned too, although it was pressed stupidly quiet on this compilation

It was hoovers that signalled the start of the rave for me

Caught this on a BBC R1 in new djs we trust set back in June, almost drove off the motorway I was nodding so hard

Looks like Soundcloud is falling over when embedded, but the links are fine. The hoover masterpiece on the one above is about 3m 51s in - track from SF called Sens-8 by Jupiter 6 - high pitched, warped hoovers/mentazms all over the place. Came out around the same time as Dominator I reckon. By 7 minutes, it enters a new world.

The rest of that mix has some stunning highlights on it too. What a time that was, a new genre of dance music every week.

The Prologue remix on the b-side is even better, imo. It's less breakbeat-oriented though:

A more modern take on breaks from MRK1 more reesey than hoovery but still needs sharing. This is like 2003 i think?

A modern take on the hoover, I'm sure it will make some of the purists rage... but still.

I am a proud owner of an original Roland Juno with the 'what the?' preset which was the original hoover sound, I have done a mod on the preset so it doesn't fall, maybe I can upload some waves if anyone is interested?

after a spot of googling i found this.

History:
The 'hoover' was first used in the track 'Mentasm' by Second Phase (1991, R&S). 'Second Phase' was a collaboration between Joey Beltram and Mundo Muzique. The mentasm sound was taken directly from the Roland Alpha Juno-2, it's a factory preset on there called 'What the...!'. Then, according to beltram himself:
